A Karma Kagyu Lineage Gurus Thangka

【Hong Kong】A superbly Karma Kagyu Lineage Gurus thangka painted by Ms Kim Chong, Hong Kong disciple of Thrangu Rinpoche and Karma Gardi style of thangka painter, has spent one year to complete the painting and recently gifted to Hong Kong Thrangu Centre. Very Venerable Thrangu Rinpoche says, " this auspicious thangka is very helpful to practitioners at any level in mediation and visualization." Resident's lamas and all directors are deeply grateful to Ms Kim Chong and her family for their kind generosity and continued support. This well-made thangka will be displayed at the Centre for public's worship. |

Thrangu Rinpoche Celebrating Tibetan Water Dragon New Year

【Hong Kong】February 22 was Tibetan Water Dragon New Year. In the early morning, Hong Kong Thrangu's resident lamas and Nepal Thrangu's sangha arrived at Rinpoche's apartment to celebrate losar. The sangha made an elaborate mandala offering and performed a prayer for Rinpoche's long life. Rinpoche smiled charmingly and sat on the throne blessing all lamas and disciples with a sacred kata and a golden buddha statue. The simple but solemn ceremony was concluded with a joyful, serene and majestic atmosphere. |

Losar Mahakala Puja

【Hong Kong】This year, Ven Thrangu Rinppoche arranged Nepal's lamas, ani and center's resident lamas to conduct the three-day Mahakala Puja to end the old year of the Lunar Calendar. The puja was led and performed by lamas and anis with the presence of disciples. At 12:00am, the celebration started with a scarf offering to H.H 17th Karmapa and Thrangu Rinpoche to pray them for the eternal existence. Scarves were offered to the thrones of His Holiness and Thrangu Rinpoche. The customary special sweet rice and tibetan butter tea were served to the sangha and lay people during the ceremony and each guest received a bag of Losar kabsey. The Losar ceremony completed enjoyably. |

Happy Tea Party and Family Gathering

Thrangu Center and Po Leung Kuk Eco-Home for the Senior jointly held the lunch event called " the Happy Tea Party and Family Gathering" on December 4th. Because of a great inconvenience walking to many seniors, Thrangu's volunteer assisted the elderly and provided transportation. The program included visiting, dim-sim lunch, half-day tour at nearby park. The Medicine Buddha Puja and Teachings

A New Water Source for Namo Buddha

It was started on 17th May on the full moon day.The next day, Phurab Puja, the fire and smoke prayer, was performed so there would be no obstacles. The 10th Vajra Vidya Seminar was held at Namo Buddha Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery. The teaching was on the first 16 chapters of Khedrup Karma Chagme's Mountain Dharma, instructions for retreat. It was sponsored by Lama Sonam, the resident lama of Hong Kong Thrangu Centre. Most of the lamas who are residing at Thrangu Dharma centres overseas also attended the teaching. Reconstruction of Qinghai Thrangu Monastery to be restored

【China】The reconstruction of worst damaged Thrangu monastery started Sunday, April 17th, on a vast grassland, kilometers away from the original site of the 700-year-old famed monastery. Water crisis in Nepal

【Nepal】 Due to recent climate change and environmental degradation, Nepal now faces acute shortage of water. Severe water shortage hits Namo Buddha. A deep tube well is required to build. The drilling will be 230 meters through rock. This seems to be the only alternative as all other methods have dried up. The drilling and all fittings will cost approximately US$41,000. Finally, the monastery has been fortunate to buy a piece of land with a small source of water.The land is below Phoolbaari, around 3km from the monastery.【Read More】 |

H.H.Gyalwang Karmapa's Anthem for the Vajra Vidya Institute

【India】At the request of Khenpo Lobsang Tenzin, Head of Vajra Vidya Institute, Gyalwang Karmapa wrote a short song to be used as the anthem for the Institute, and presented it to Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche during the Lama Choepa on Saturday morning, March 19th. H.H. Karmapa Spring Teaching at V.V.I. Sarnath

【India】The four-day Spring teaching by HH Karmapa was held from the 9th through the 12th of March at Vajra Vidya Institute. The topic was "How to become a good person through the wish to benefit others." This is the third year in a row that the Gyalwang Karmapa has given spring teachings to an audience of local Tibetan, Indian, and international students at the Vajra Vidya Institute. Nearly six hundred people gathered to listen to His Holiness including three high reincarnate lamas; Khenchen Yongzin Thrangu Rinpoche, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and Gyatso Rinpoche. Thousands more watched all over the world, via a live webcast with translation into English, Hindi and six other languages. |

Losar celebration at VVI

【India】The celebration of the new year of Iron Rabbit (2138) at Vajra Vidya Institute was attended by more than 350 people- the sangha as well as many lay disciples from all over the world. It began in the morning with the sixteen Arhats puja, and offerings to His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa, Ven Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and Ven Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche with tea, saffron rice, and khapse. This was followed by the performance of the snow lion dance by monks from SMD Banch School and VVI, along with a contest of game skill by the young monks of VVI. The evening program " The Life of Shantideva " was performed by the young monks of SMD Branch School, Namo Buddha with elaborate costumes and staging. |

Hevajra Puja held at VVI, Sarnath

【India】The grand puja of Hevajra was held at the Vara Vidya Institute in Sarnath, the place where the Buddha gave his first teaching. Hevajra is one of the 13 Tantras translated by the great yogi and translator Marpa. H.H the 17th Karmapa has directed the Vajra Vidya Institute to preserve the Hevajra Tantra and its rituals. There are male and female form of Hevajra both of which are performed by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, faculty and students of VVI. The recent grand puja was of the male form and it was held for seven days under the direction of Thrangu Rinpoche. All members of Thrangu monastery hope that by doing the puja, there may be world peace and that everyone may be happy in the upcoming year. |

【Hong Kong】The Dinner was held on Nov 15th at TST Royal Wedding. Nearly over 700 guests attended the gala event. The programmes of this evening included lucky draw, magic show and singing performance. In addition to tasty food available, there were also volunteers present who performed wholeheartedly on stage to make the party a success. The gala dinner party ended in joyfulness and mutual blessing. |
