Canada Thrangu Monastery

To establish the first traditional "Tibetan-style" monastery in North America as a central point for lay Buddhist practice within the Karma Kagyu lineage, in order to protect its teachings and ensure their transmission into the future.

 

 

Mission

 

The proposed new monastery will be located at Richmond, Vancouver. The construction is now in progress and it is expected to be completed in 2008. Activities will be focused on the spiritual development of all sentient beings through teachings, meditation and short/long term retreats. This place will provide a unique opportunity to experience Tibetan Buddhism and make these precious teachings more accessible, ensuring their continuation for future generations.
